Due to popular demand...otherwise known as Eric

So, after months and months of not posting, Eric, Amy, and Megan have led me to post again.  I just got back from a superbowl party, in which the only thing that interested me was delicious food and a few commercials.  It was unanimous at our party that there definitely needed to be more monkeys involved in commercials this year.  And the only thing from this year's superbowl that reminded me of monkeys was the 5 seconds that they randomly panned in on some bananas sitting on the sidelines.  Actual bananas.  Weird.  But definitely not enough monkeys.  I made some red velvet cupcakes for the game, which were a big hit.  Which is good, since I definitely did not need some leftover cupcakes tempting me for the next week.  I already have 1/4 can of cream cheese frosting leftover, and I feel that I'll have to throw that out, or else it will start talking to me, telling me to eat it.

Lately I've been in kind of a weird funk, which usually happens when I'm about to end a stage in life (or in this case, school).  There's just this strange phase in which most of my good friends have left Stillwater, and though new students are coming in to replace them, I have absolutely no motivation to get to know them and be great friends.  I know that I'll probably never talk to these people again after 3 months, so I don't really care about making small talk.  And then I feel like a jerk, and then feel guilty.  But whatevs.

I'm supposed to be moving to Tulsa in 3 months, and though I'm excited about moving to a new place, I'm not really thrilled about anything else.  My job is kinda boring, and I don't see it as something I could do much longer than 2-3 years (hopefully!), I don't have many friends in Tulsa, and Kevin is wishy-washy about whether or not he's going to move there too.  Hopefully it will be resolved soon enough.  But I want to move ASAP to live in a magical land where somehow all of the YOTG girls can live in the same state (now that we're all in the same country!).  I need good friends near me more!  That, or possibly some monkeys.

Felix and Oscar!

So, because everyone is a jerk and yelling at me to name my kittens, I now have names.  I didn't ask everyone's opinion so I could be condemned for not naming them immediately!  Anyway, the gray one is Felix, and the orange one is Oscar.  Yay!

It's pretty lame that all I do now is hang around at home waiting for the kittens to get so tired from playing that they will take naps on my lap.  I've got to actually start getting some work done.  Soon I will be working 3 days a week in Tulsa and wishing that I had gotten more stuff done on my thesis while I had the chance.

Tomorrow night is a Counting Crows concert in Tulsa, which I'm really hoping to go to.  I'm trying to beg Catherine and her friend Tim to go, but it's kinda an expensive concert ($55) so we'll see if they do.  It's Counting Crows, Third Eye Blind, and Collective Soul, so I'm calling it the All 90s Concert.  I think we should dress up in flannel and torn jeans.  It will be sweet.

By the way, Fiddle (AKA Julie) and Karen had their baby boy last week, Peyton Taylor Eldredge.  He's super tiny and really cute!  I've visited him twice now, and I'm pretty sure he loves me way more than them.  It still freaks me out that they have a baby.  I mean, for the next 12 years, they will either have to be with him ALL the time, or hire someone to be with him.  Craziness.  In Fiddle's words, "No more sleeping in until noon.  Ever again."  But it's exciting to watch from the sidelines.
